Andrew Dawson

Project leader

Andrew is a senior at ʻIolani School in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, and his passion for science and technology as well as his desire to solve real-world problems drew him to the MOMI Project. Andrew plays a key role on the MOMI team, as he is the brand manager, web developer, and works as a mechanical technician and programmer. He is responsible for the MOMI Project’s brand design, communications, publicity, and outreach program. Andrew hopes that the MOMI Project will not only be able to clean the Ala Wai Canal, but also get the community of Hawaiʻi involved and inspired to help improve our environments.

Outside of MOMI, Andrew loves watching movies, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with friends. He is also a leader on ʻIolani’s basketball and water polo teams, and he had several opportunities to continue playing at the collegiate level. Andrew is very thankful for the opportunity to grow up in Hawaiʻi and attend ʻIolani School, where he has been able to explore his passion for STEM while making lifelong friends.

Andrew will be attending Duke University in the fall.
