Kolea Count

The Pacific Golden-Plover or Kolea in Hawaiian, are migratory birds that arrive in Hawaii, from Alaska, during the winter. These birds are known to return to the same spot each year.

Kolea Count, a project of the Hawaii Audubon Society, aims to record when, where, and how many Kolea migrate to Hawaii and how many birds spend summers here.
